about
My desire as a jeweler is to create distinct jewelry that is comfortable, unique and timeless. Jewelry that makes a statement with simple, clean lines. Beautiful and bold. Industrial and organic. Modern and old world.
All of my work is hand-fabricated and original in design, even the ceramic tiles that I create, which are a signature element of my work. Each piece begins the same, whether the focus is ceramic, gemstone or pearl. Using primarily sterling silver and 22K metals, I build each piece. By bending, forming, raising, filing, hammering, soldering, setting stones and applying patinas the piece is revealed; contemporary, wearable art.
I was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. I graduated from Purdue University in 1993 and ventured to Portland, OR. Here, I found clay, metal and a new passion. In 1998, I began making jewelry the old-fashioned way, through an apprenticeship with a 2nd generation jeweler, Tita Heaton.
I have been inspired ever since... |
